85 CUTLASS 350 5.7 BUILD WONT STOP RUNNING

I HAVE A 85 CUTTY 350 MOTOR REBUILD DROPPED MOTOR AND SHE STARTED RIGHT UP
BUT THE PROBLEM IS SHE WONT TURN OFF. AND I HAVE A 1 WIRE ALTERNATORS FROM AC DELCO
WITH 1 LITTLE BROWN WIRE AN A POST FOR THE BATTERY. WHERE DOES THE LITTLE BROWN WIRE
GO.

The brown wire hooks to post on alt. Its for the idiot light or gauge. Is the power wire feeding distributer ignition controled meaning it turns power off with key if not thats your problem. Do you have and electric fan it will generate power and keep car running for a short period. More details as to what exactly it is doing will help. Wont shut off at all runs for a little then dies etc.
