Hi my grandfather recently sold me his cutlass it is in great shape but 100% original i want to do it up but that bieng said i dont want to bastardize it and ideas on how i can get a bit more out of the 305 and what i should do with the rear end would be greatly appreciated im also looking for custom interior parts and get the style to more of a 70s 442 look

Welcome to the site!
Good idea on changing up the originality of the cutlass. If you want good ideas on interior change up check out some build threads there are plenty of good ideas out there. I was in the same boat as you, but changed up my interior grant makes universal steering wheels wooden ones are cool. If you have the oh so common bench seat and column shift, go find a floor shift combo. ( you said 70's 442) dont know how far you want to go but its easy to get carried away.

If you want "more" out of a 305? Or 307?

You probably have a 307 olds. If you do the most id do is add a few hp tweaks. Like higher ratio rockers, add a new distributor, headers and a tune up. Also suggest using a higher octane gasoline like 89

Find a user on here '88hurstolds' he has all the 442 dash trim NOS / used for sale in topics on here. Ditch the 305. Or 307. Both sucks. Strive for the 20mpg they are capable of instead of trying to squeeze performance out of either one. Trying to get performance out of a 305 or 7 is like expecting a good build quality from doing construction with idiots. That's why most people on here are doing a swap of some kind. keep us posted. pics worth *more than 1,000 word on here

Welcome from a fellow new user.
Check out the build threads, lots of inspiration there!
