85 cutlass carburetor help

i have an 85 cutlass i need to replace the carburetor i want to get an edelbrock carb what else do i need i know its not a direct replacement can someone please help.................fyi the fuel filter thread(on the body of the carb) is crossed threaded and cannot be fixed help help help help

i fixed it..........i used a pipe compound........i do hvac so i had some and put it on the pipe the compound prevents leaks you can find any plumber, hvac tech would have some
