i need help. Trying to install rally guages in my cutlass. It has the original 231 v6 with granny guage and idiot lights. I know I need to change the oil sender but I don't know how to wire the sender since my original has 2 connections and the replacement sender only has one. Does anyone have any pictures of an original cutlass with 231 and rally guages so I can see how it's wired. I need to see a picture of the oil sender installed on the engine block. If anyone has any. Thanks

I did this swap and got stuck on that part also For years my oil gage didn't work. You are supposed to t the line off and use both senders but there's no room for both where the sender goes on the v6. Are you still on the computer? I'm not so my set up maybe different. I only used the gage sender. Originally there's three wires on the small sender a brown/white on one side and a lt blue and tan on the other side. The blue would go to the choke and the tan would run back to the gage harness. What I did was, ran the brown/white to power the choke, eliminated the blue wire and connected the tan to the sender. Make sure you have the tan wire in the correct spot at the harness. Now my Gage works but it still not accurate. I'm eventually just going to run a new wire altogether to see if it helps. For years I never got an answer as to the correct way to do it but I'm close. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the info. I did see the link and the video but it doesn't explain how it would be wired to a v6. That's why I'm hoping that someone has pictures of an original v6 with rally guages. I appreciate all the help.

Got it installed and everything works great.

The way I wired it: I followed the instructions on http://tech.oldsgmail.com/eint_rallye_swap.php, but i put the tan oil wire into position 8 instead of 4 like the instructions said. The reason for that was so that I didn't have to cut the original oil switch wires. Then I ran a new wire from the new oil sender and installed that into position 4. No wire cutting required and it works great.
