My name is Norm and I am new to the forum. A buddy of mine and myself are in the process of building up an 85 Cutlass to run on the local 1/4 mile dirt track. The car is has seen better days, but should work just fine for this purpose. I am looking for info pertaining to the specs of the car. Specifically motor, transmission and rear end options. This is a "stock" class but some deviation within the model range is allowed. I would like to put the strongest components offered by the factory into the car. Any info or links would be appreciated.

Thanks

That sounds cool! Welcome to the forum. What type of inspection does the car have to pass. How strict are they on "stock"?

Not sure exactly the extent, my guess is visual for the most part and maybe a few measurements here and there. The "stock" aspect mainly refers to not allowing aftermarket or high performance parts. The cars have to be pretty much as they came from the factory, with the adition of all the saftey equipment and removal of all plastic and glass.

you need to check out this site: thedirtforum.com. best dirt track site on the web, and a lot of helpful and smart people. good luck
