Does having a rear sway bar in my car mean that it has the handleing package???Just curious what should i look for?? It's a 1985 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham. Its got the chevy 305 and is a 2 door. Has the vinyl top and the stainless trim. Velour powerdrivers seat. Power windows and locks. A/C (lent the car to a buddy for a bit and his friends stole my a/c) I kinda wish i had the build sheet for this car to know exactly what it came with. I believe it has 2.41 gears in the rear (will be changed to probably mid 3's) Anyway i will get some pics up when it is sunny here, It used to be a light blue but was painted black (wish i still had ac now)

If it has the rear bar, it is most likely equipped with the handling package. Don't fret about the lack of a build sheet, if you have the original trunk lid, you have something just as good. The Service Parts Identification label. It has all the RPO codes used to build your car when new. For example, the "Firm Ride and Handling Package" could be a code FE2, F41, or WN1. The 305 Chevy is not a factory engine in US models, but the codes for 305's of that year would be LG4 or L69 ( I think Canadian models used the Chevy 305). The 3.8 Buick V6 is LD5, 5.7 Diesel is LD5, standard 307 Olds is LV2, and the HO 307 is LG8. I have the decoding information because I have the GM service manuals for 1985 Oldsmobiles. If you want to know what a code means, just post it here and I will look it up.

Oh, if it has the 2.41 gears, It will have a code GU1 on the sticker. If it is something other than that, post all of the codes beginning with G and I will look it up.

awsome thanks for the info, where on the trunk lid is this sticker located???? Also the car is a candian car, as that is where i am from, i believe it was built in Oshawa Ontario, anyway when my g/f gets back with the car i will try to go get some pics, and see if i can find the sticker (hopefully no one removed it)

Anyone?? I have had a quick look but couldn't see the sticker so i think someone may have removed it. Got a pic of where it is or anything???

Well, it would be obvious if it were there, or it may have been painted over at some time. It is almost as big as the jacking instructions sticker, and located in one of the windows in the bracing of the deck lid where you can see the exterior sheetmetal.

As 85 Cutlass stated, it's on the underside of the deck (trunk) lid and would be option F41.

Don't worry, mine does not have it either. I know the codes in order to source parts from junkyard cars. However, I could make my own if I had the proper label, as most of the options on it were put there by me.

wait if you have the sticker on the trun lid, its an f41 car, my cutlass has 2 stickers but i cant read them because i cand get to the back of the car in my garadge that easily.
