I am getting ready to re-do my 1985 Monte Carlo SS. I plan to install a Big block with 600-700 HP. Is there any modifications needed to strengthen up the chassis to handle the torque or any recommendations to help the car apply the power to the ground?

I think it really depends on what you plan to use the car for, street or strip. Definitely plan on upgrading your rear end to an 8.5 or a Ford 9 inch. There are also factory braces that you can add to your car that will help stiffen everything up. For the most part, the frame should be able to handle the power unless its a full blown race car.
