That looks pretty cool but I think they lost the "rarity" of the car when they totally changed everything about the car. They should have modded a non rare edition.
I saw that a long while ago... The owner must have run out of money for the project.
It's a fantastic build, but I think it's hilarious that they went through the time and expense to swap a Vette IRS in the rear, yet are staying with a bone stock front suspension... :?
I love this project and rare Pontiac or not the new generation engine and 6 speed auto are way cool. Although I probably would have looked at the new Pontiac big chief or whatever its called now. The new generation aftermarket big block Pontiac. I agree that the IRS was largely a waist as even the new Mustangs went back to a solid rear. Its hard to make an IRS work really well with mad power not that they are going to have that unless they add the supercharger which at this point I would do. You just don't get much real tangible improvement for your money and it often becomes fickle. They did not leave the front suspension untouched. They may not have replaced it but they improved it dramatically with the global west uppers & lowers swaybar brakes etc. I like the new GTO seats not sure about the dash but probably. I hope they don't change the exterior dramatically. Anybody know if they have the Pontiac ralleys revised in larger sizes as that might be a cool tie in and look right. Big bucks were spent even if he did the work himself let alone having a shop do it for him.
Vern, where did you see that stuff? Did I miss some of the photos?
The only pics I saw of the front suspension were the bone stock pieces cleaned up with a fresh coat of paint... :?
