Ok the Olds motor and transmission have been pulled from my '86 Cutlass, I have a rebuilt Chevy 350, and purchased a 700r4 transmission. The motor and transmission are ready to be dropped in but I figured while I have the engine bay opened up I would go ahead and clean it up. Does ANYONE have any pics of their engine bay clean up projects? I want to lose everything that is unnecessary and keep anything I have to keep. Any thoughts, questions,....step by step instructions?

Please check out my Photo Album and see my pics[/img]

nice cutlass, my car use to be that clean lol, now it's in the primer and bodywork stage...have that same interior, but i'm switching to hurst buckets and taking my pillowtop set out. gonna keep them tho might wanna switch back they are so comfy! I had real good results with duplicolors rattle cans. I prepped the radiator support (wet sanded with 400) then shot some Duplicolor etch primer (the green stuff) then topcoated with the satin black, stuff is tough! i don't care what anybody says that rattle can etch primer really grips the metal, i had a hard time taking it off with lacquer thinner when i redid my frame the 2nd time. I used 3M undercoating which I DON'T recommend, not on the frame anyway, stuff is asphalt based and stays soft, and if oil or fluids get on it, it gums up and is nasty stuff....lesson learned, it's good to use on the transmission tunnel, under the floor pans and firewall tho. just make sure you prep the area good first
