86 GP/2+2 power trunk?

Did the 2+2 model come with a power trunk? If so, where is the button? The key doesn't work in the lock of the one I just got. The key only goes in half way. I did find a broken off ignition key in the console, so I am now wondering if someone put the ignition key in the trunk lock and busted it off.

If there is a power trunk it would make my life easier. I looked in the glovebox for a button, but didn't find one. Did they put them in any other places other than the glovebox?

If not, I guess I will pull the rear seats and unbolt the lock from the trunk that way with a long extension. I thought these 2+2's were fully loaded.

If it wasn't in the glove box it doesn't have it.

I hope not either because the only thing that would fit is a midget. You really don't want to have recurring flashbacks of decomposing midgets in your trunk for the rest of your life! :lol:

If you can believe it, we pit the broken piece of the ignition (square) key in the trunk and the key worked. I don't know why my Dad tried it because I never would have thought of it, but it saved me a lot of time thats for sure.

no power truck for any of the 2+2's but its great that you were able to pop the trunk with the other half of the key! as of getting the other part of the key out of the keyhole

Oh yeah, no midgets in the trunk. Carpet was really clean. Pics in the photo section of this site.

Makes me wonder how much longer those guys on that classicresto.com website will get that GP 2+2 with the hatch completed. Haha.
