I was considering going to look at a 86' Grand Prix 2+2 that is still priced too high and needs some restoration (interior work, doors, center console) and to bring it back down to stock ride height since it was lifted for big rims but in one picture I could see an issue with the roof and asked for a picture of that.
Bad doors I get how that happens but this roof, how does this happen.

That roof/rear glass seal area look bad.

What was the asking price?

And I have to say that I have a soft spot for these rear bubble glass G's

He is asking $6,000, way to high IMO, I don't mind doing interior work or hanging some doors, etc. but this looks pretty extensive and I imagine way worse in person.

Seats are trashed, no console etc.

It looks like it's separating at the leaded seam, no prior accident?
I don't know the history of the car but it could have been in an accident and possibly had a faulty repair.

Maybe a $2k car. I see really nice stock ones for 8k semi often.

The rear window seals on these cars are kinda crap and the sealant dries out. My 2+2 rear window leaked like crazy from the top (same location that's rusty on that car). I filled the crack with some black silicone.

The corners rot because when the put the big window in they smashed the corners of the roof with a BFH and skimmed it with Bondo to contour to the window a bit better. Steel under thick Bondo with a water flow path = rust. I've had about 2 people walk up to me at shows and say they had a 2+2 in the mid 90's and they rusted the rear window frame out.

When they aren't cared for they are suseptable to rust there.
