hello. i just bought myself my first gbody, an 86 grand prix. fully loaded with t-tops! it's pretty good shape. first thing i'm going to do with it is build a 500hp 400 for it. i already have the engine, just need to assemble it. i guess it's my winter project for this year. right now it has a 305 with a 2004r.

i need to find a more stout diff for it. any suggestions?
also am i going to have to do anything else to this car so it structurally can stand up to 500ponies?

quick and easy answer for a rear end? ditch the entire 7.5" rear axle and get a 8.5" one out of a GN or 442 cutlass, complete with rear driveshaft.

This setup is a complete bolt in and will definately stand up to 500hp in stock form. If you want a even better option replace the axle shafts in the 8.5" rear end add some c-clip eliminators, or weld on the ford housing ends and you'll be good for 9 second 1/4 mile passes.

You'll need to go to photobucket and set up an account. Then photobucket, after you upload your pic's to it will give you an image url, copy it and paste it here and you should be set. I believe there's other ways to do it but this is the most commonly used. Hope it helps.
