Well we got back to it a couple nights this week. We got the hydroboost, master cylinder and pedal stuff back in there and bolted down. Got a new cotter pin(actually an assortment) and got the pedal hooked up to the actuator rod on the hydroboost. Actually, you need to hook the rod up before you bolt the pedal bracket back in there, or at least we did as I couldn't get the rod onto the pedal pin with the bracket bolted in. Your results may vary.

For those wondering I took a pic of the length of the pin cL to cL on the pivot

Also got one from the end of the pedal to the actuator pin cL

booster and master cylinder bolted in.

I got a tee, some hose and a chinese flare wrench to try to get the hose from pump to steering box off. I looked for a snapon or matco man all week and stopped by harbor freight to see about a flare wrench or some crow foot flare pieces but came up dry so I bought the duralast at the auto zone by the house. I looked at the sears stuff too and called the store but they said they didn't have the single or the set in stock and the last time i went over there most of their stuff was marked china so I doubt Ill be buying much from them when I can get Chinese junk anywhere.

Had to make an adjustment to one of the lines to get it to fit in under the a/c compressor.

This line runs from the pump up to the pass side of the booster.

The other one goes from the steering box to the dr side of the booster.

Then you must tee into the return line from the reservoir to the steering box from the booster.

We are making progress but I doubt I will have it for Sat. I was hoping to make a pass or two at the brand X Bash.

Got the lines finagled and massaged and threaded into the master.

I put a loose ziptie on the return line to keep it off the brake lines. Anyone have thoughts? Good/Bad?

Hopefully we will be mobile this weekend.

just an FYI your thread title says "PowerMaster" but that is not a power master setup, its a Hydro Boost setup. Its a great upgrade over vacuum brakes, i have the same setup on my 78 Monte, except i didn't use stock GM lines, i used the braided power steering lines from Russel's, since i have a big block the stock lines weren't going to fit

Thanks for the info.

Actually my particular vehicle is an 87 Buick Regal equipped with the lc2, we4, and y56 options and came from the factory with the powermaster. Using the term 86 used to mean deleting when I worked at a resturant, "back in the Day". Unfortunately after 25 years(give or take) the powermaster gave up and I needed a replacement. While I considered going with a vacuum setup the hydroboost seemed like a better alternative since the car is turbocharged. (like the avatar)

I'll post back after we get the system bled and it is mobile.

We are mobile!
Got the system flushed out and bled. While I had the front up I started it up checked the power steering reservoir for fluid level and turned the wheels lock to lock several times to bleed that part of the system. I took her out for a spin. Now I need some s10 wheel cylinders for the rear. Stops nice and straight.

I am curious why the stock line wouldn't fit? I would think that ones from a truck that goes from pump to hydroboost would work and the one I used from steering box to hydroboost would work. I get that the braided lines ad bling.

I am off to solve the no turn signal mystery. Maybe just a flasher or fuse.
