87 442 Restoration Thread

Hi everyone. After 9 years of owning my 442, and restoring it at snails speed, I have finally decided to finish it. here are some photos of the car in the beginning stages of the resto, I will be pulling it apart starting today! I will keep you updated on its progress.

Yes, at least as stock as I can get it. I swapped out the 307 for a 403, but other that, It will be stock. As for the hood, I still have the original, I would prefer to put it back on, however my engine sits up to high, and I could not close the hood with the stock hood on.
 
I don't think the hood looks bad but as an option you can also do an inexpensive Hurst Olds clone hood. It would look factoryish Oldsmobile and give you some room. Optionally I made mine functional as you can see in my pics.
 
The 403 shouldn't sit any higher than the 307. You should find out the reason why this is happening.
 
its not the 403 that is high. I have a high rise manifold that is causing everything to sit up higher.
