i have a 1984 olds cutlass.. i want to put the header panel from a 87 or 88 because i wanna run h.i.d's on it.. is this hard to do?? has anybody done it before?

It's pretty easy as I understand. I haven't done it but if I remember correctly you'll need the front bumper assembly with all the rubber as well. Someone will be along that can help you more. Not too long ago someone was trying to get rid of an 87-88 front end to swap theirs to an older style. Maybe they still have it?!

My understanding of the swap is all you have to deal with is rewiring the lights. Easy from what I hear. I have an 87; I need to get a new upper and lower header and grills due to the previous owner bumping someone at a light. Once I do so I plan on running HID's as well. WARNING! No HID conversion is as easy as the directions say. So reasearch diff, brands and go with a type that others have allready done that way you have backup if there is any isues.

you can run hids with the older headlight assembly. i have it on my elco, just buy an h4 headlight conversion off of ebay, they are like 30 bucks. the h4 housing is the same size as the stock halogen bulb in your car. you need to cut the back of the headlight bucket to make them fit the correct way but its possible. just a suggestion if you didnt want to switch to the euro nose. cutting the buckets is easier than swapping a header panel. 🙂

If you decide to cut out your lights to work in the H4's be sure to pic up and extra set of light housings from a scrap yard or off ebay so you have a back up if something goes wrong. If it were me I'd go to the Euro set up, but I have an 87 already. I plan on runnign HID's once I get her nose fixed up.

I'm going to do pretty much the same thing in a couple of weeks, I got the header panel, lights, bumper filler and wiring off a 87 Cutlass, it's going on my 84.
