Here's my current project, a 88 cutlass supreme i got for $300. Because I'm in college, it wont be an over nite project, but why rush things anyway on something that in the end will never be truly complete 😀 Since the car didnt come with a motor or trans, my priorities at the moment are just getting it up and running. After that, if my wallet allows it, i'll start doing a little custom work on it such as paint and wheels (trying to decide between cocaine white, metallic silver, or going back with the original paint and either 20in irocs or stock ralley wheels, painted to match, for the wheels). I already have a rebuilt motor laying around and a th350 that needs rebuilding. I'm planning on rebuilding the trans myself and with this being my first attempt at rebuilding one, i hope everything goes well. I also have a 2.5in dual exhaust system that i'm putting back on it... Funny story, after doing a run of the numbers, i found out what i had thought to be an early model 350sbc, was actually a '71-73 307sbc. A little disappointing at first, yes, but it looks like my cutlass is destined to have a 307 powerplant, lol.

Future mods to the motor include:
Holley 600cfm 4 barrel
old style 4 barrel alum. intake
305 h.o. heads or 350 heads w/ 1.94 intake valves
mild cam, something like a comp xe256 or summit 1102 or 1103 cam
msd ignition coil

While i'm sure to have many more questions during the progress of this build, at the moment i was wanting to know which mufflers would sound the best with performance style ram head manifolds, Magnaflow, flowmaster, or glasspacks?

Looks like a good start for $300....is the transmission unusable as it sits? I've never rebuilt one before, good way to save big $$ Or waste lotta time? I'd go 20" iroc wheels on the "cocaine white" cutty....

nice car,good luck with it.
