I sent him my air cleaner for trade and this is one of the rude emails I got.

Got the aircleaner today. Its trashed You used NO packing material and just threw it in a box, litterally. Both snorkles are dented beyond repair. Plastic hose part has a hole in it and the fabric is torn. Lid has scuffs all over it. Deal is off, the door panels have been recalled in transnsit send a shipping label to claim your piece of junk otherwise it will be tossed in 30 days. I am so ******** livid right now words cannot explain... WTF man!

Wow, thats kind of surprising to read. By no means am I taking sides just speaking from my personal experience, but 88 was great to work with. I have dealed with him numerous times for several parts (H/O spoiler, 442 door panel emblems, parking lights, and gauges). It does suck to get messages like that though. But maybe try working things out before blasting someone publically over the internet? I know youre unhappy and so is he, but things can probably be made right.

Ive tried and asked him why so bent out of shape. My response

First off i had box it didnt fit.I bought box at post office and used box to secure it. If it got messed up Im sorry but who the hell are you to give me this sh*t attitude. If you dont want it just say you dont make it. You are acting like Im getting over or something . I sent it to you before you even boxed. Hey if you dont like it you dont have to insult me.Can you send it back i will send you the money.I dont know how to have label sent and if any problem call me. Also you saw pictures i didnt hide nothing if it got crushed its beyond my control you offered me the deal. Billy

If you couldn't find a proper box then you should have made one and not let all the components and lid bounce around and let the force of impact be directly on the snorkles, I make boxes all the time for shipping people's stuff, I sell about 300 items a year and NOT ONE has showed up trashed. Read the message again, tell me whats insulting about it. Sucks having to be responsible huh??? You took no care what-so-ever in packaging that item, complete and utter irresponsibility. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS ON HOW PISSED I AM THAT A SUPER RARE ITEM IN MINT CONDITION LIKE THIS WAS TREATED WITH NO CARE, don't even get me started on what you did to the 1 of 400 white 442! Print out a label and mail it to me other wise I'm throwing this piece junk in the garbage. I am so discusted right now. Don't contact me again unless it's through a printed label in the US MAIL otherwise PayPal me $25 to [email protected] to send back. We're done here.

I understand both sides and can see how both sides are upset. But remember those were private messages for a reason, for you two settle the problem not to show someones angry side.

On another note don't take offense to anything said about what YOU did to YOUR car. Sure it might be rare but at the end of the day you own it. I've had similar things said to me before with my 442 I just dont let it bug me. I can do whatever I want because im the one paying for this thing, not them. Everyone is entitled to an opinion though.

No I contacted admin. here first and pm'd him to send pictures since post office crushed box and he posted pictures on his forum and stated not to buy from me. I tried being a gentlemen and i will post the rest where he changes his story. Maybe his standards are higher than mine but he never needed to talk down on me or bash me.

Yea pretty much and for what an air cleaner that he didnt pay for of ever take possion of. I didnt try to force him to keep it.

bill,idk if you remember me but i'm the guy that bought your hood.if it helps any i looked at that air cleaner when i picked up the hood and it was one of the nicest i have seen,much nicer than the one on my 442.if i was keeping my car stock i would have bought it!it really sucks that it seems that your air cleaner damaged in shipping,did he send you any pic's? if not how can you belive it was damaged ?and it sounds strange that he wont send it back.
