Hey guys i have a 79 cutlass wih a good running 260 in it. No rust or dents on the body, and it is primered and ready for paint. All glass is good and the interior is beautiful. I replaced the brougham interior with a Black rear seat and black buckets up front. I am going to put a sbc 350 into it, and i will start putting that together when i get the block from the machine shop. I was just wondering what you guys think about doing a 442 clone, or throw me some ideas of what you guys think would be kewl. If you can post some pics of your guys sweet rides i sure would like some inspiration. 😛

First of all, I can't see any of your pics  . As far as a 442 close goes, the word "clone" implies that it would be exactly like a 442; paint, interior and drivetrain. The SBC and interior swap you mentioned kind of rules that out. If you are just talking about a 442 style paint scheme, I like the idea. Please don't add any 442 badges though. No one likes a faker. The beauty of the Gbodys is that they aren't really that valuable yet -- with a few exceptions. You can really make them your own by customizing them any way you want with a clear conscience. Can't do that with a Duesenberg. Since you asked, a couple pics of my '79:

Those are some bad *ss rides! DRIVEN i did mean just the paint, if i ever get a 442 i want it to be a real 442. i have a guy that will paint it for 500$ so i think thats how i will do it.

Sounds like a bargain. I had more in materials for my last "cheap" paint job.

I hear ya! Thankfully this guy is giving me a deal. Most Gbodys around this area have been used for race cars so im glad as hell to have one!!!

Olds 350 or 403 is a direct swap. Unfortunately, you have the worst Olds engine ever made. Just an under powered turd.
