hey guys been a while since i have done a posting. i have been wanting to do a 5.3 swap since i got my car but since then alot has changed my buddy found me a 6.o out of a 99 chevy 3/4 ton truck with the matching 4l80e transmission. computer and engine harness. for $750 i could not pass on this deal. so without buying the motor yet me and my dad pulled the oldsmobile 307 out yesterday with the transmission. i have done alot of research and am new to engine swaps. actually yesterday was the first engine i ever took out so i am going to need some help to make this a success. my car is a 1987 buick real limited that came with the oldsmobile 307 and metric 200 trans. since i have bout it i actually went on ahead and did a body swap from a hard top to a 1987 ttop ttype regal and rolled my frame and drivetrain underthat. thats just some lil information on the car. from what i have read what i need is a ac delco EP-241 in tank fuel pump found it on summit racing for 65.95 found somewhat cheaper on other sites but summit should match their price. along with that i also need a gm fuel sending unit part number gm#25092742 i belive thats what i need anybody have any advise or better information. i am going to try and use the truck oil pan and intake if possible i have read conflicting information. the most i need is part numbers so i can start ordering parts. also the mounts i plan on using is ebay trans dapt 4575 they are the 1" set back ones did anybody have any problems with those.

a car oil pan (not sure whether you migth look at cadillac?) would offer more clearance for sure. Also I have heard of people making the fuel sending units from 4.3 TBI monte carlos work with newer fuel injected systems. dont quote me on that but its worth looking into

also from what i have read is that to fit 4l80e trans the floor need to be dimpled. i kinda do not fully understand that, or am i better off trying to swap that 4l80e for a 4l60e instead. also from what i read alot of people just modify their trans crossmembers how are they doing that. and does that just apply to the grand national cross member or can i modify my cross member

according to my book "how to swap an ls-series motor into almost anything" it says that the fuel injected cars of that era only used 20lbs of fuel pressure to get going i belive that it can be modified to do the needed 58lbs of fuel pressure but my car is a carbed one so i belive that it might just be easier replacing it with the ac delco ep-241 and the gm pump assembly it is suppose to be a simple drop in

ok i have ordered the "Trans-Dapt Performance Products 4575 Swap Mount Motor Mount" from ebay i will be buying the car clamshell motor mounts for a chevy v8 monte carlo 1987 to bolt it down to the frame. also ordered the "NEW AC DELCO FUEL PUMP WITH INSTALLATION KIT EP241" from ebay as well. the next item that im am going to get will be the autoparts store "Dorman® OE Solutions™ - Fuel Tank Sending Unit
Part # 692-089
Line: DOR"

this is the parts store replacement pump for a 87 grand national it should drop in. not sure if the witing will match up. ill be dropping the tank tomarrow and check it out. i went to the junkyard and did not find a single monte carlo 4.6 tbi fuel tank to replace my own. anybody got any pics of their fuel system set-up i would appreaciate it.
