a-body 8.5" 10 bolt fitment?

I saw a rear end from a 76 monte carlo, and it's an 8.5". Any good? Is it worthwhile to put in my 80 monte drag project? Bolt in? or will I need new control arms.......... hmmmmm........

If I remember correctly, that rear end is 4" wider than a g-body rear is.

Not only is the 76 wider but the upper trailing arm mounts are way forward. Just don`t use one; believe me...

Thanks Chris and Bruce. I have been having absolutely no success in finding much info on that rear end. I did feel there were probably issues with it, otherwise everyone else would be using it. Too bad, as I'm sure there are plenty more of these 8.5's than the elusive GN and Olds 8.5
