So yesterday i decided to change my oil and for some reason everytime i change my oil it turns into another project.
So i decided to make my high beams into air intakes.
I figured it would bring a little more fresh air into the engine bay.
Couldn't hurt right?
So
Total Cost: $20
Instructions:
Go to Home Depot (or lowes)
Buy 1 sheet of this

they have different patterns and smaller sheets but my Home Depot was out of the smaller sheets
Check the lawn and garden department idk i guess some people use it in there garden

Alright once out have your sheet take your headlight chrome trim out, and take the silver headlight housing out
Put the silver housing on the sheet, trace it with a maker, take your tin snips, wire cutters, scissors (whatever you got laying around that can cut) and cut it marked line.
(^^^^^^^ i used a putty knife and a hammer)

then put the cut piece up the where the high beam was and make a couple trims (edges, top, bottom, screw holes whatever)

then put the piece on put everything back together and here is what you have.

Since i did it yesterday ive had 3 or 4 random strangers stop me and ask what i did to the high beams
they thought it was a cool interesting idea
and hell i think it looks cool
tell me what you guys think

I don't know how it is for you round there, but up here in NY the 2nd person that would ask me about them would be a cop 🙁
It's not a bad idea, looks good, good for a track day for me.

lol well i dont really think its a law that they inforce too much around here
i have regular headlights and when i turn the high beams on the headlights get brighter
so i figure thats high beam enough for me to get out of a ticket

Pretty cool idea it matches the grille nicely. Reminds me of a early GTO with the lower headlight missing.

that is a neat idea.got to try it for my self.

i have been thinking about doing it and make custom tubing going to the air cleaner, looks good

i have a old dual inlet aircleaner that i'am going to use.

well you'll have to cut the brackets behind the high beams (which isnt too hard)
i have my dual inlet air cleaner on my 3.8 right now
but im just using it till winter hits
then ill park the cutlass and drop the 350 in
im just doing small misc. upgrades just to get everything ready for the engine

I like the way it looks..........good job 8)
