hey,

i have been working my regal's wiring because the last owner did some re-wiring (really bad re-wiring). and i noticed this connecting clip was spliced into i think to run power for the radio and also two wires were cut and connected to one that is running up to the steering column. its not for the horn because they rewired that and placed a button on the dash on top of the radio. one problem i am having maybe due to the splicing and re-wiring is when i go to turn on my hazard lights the lights on my dash flash extremely fast and it turns off my radio but my hazards don't actually flash. here are a couple of pic of the clip that was cut. any help will be appreciated. even if its just telling me what that is called so i can try to find a replacement one. thanks

All the wires on the side of the connector with the cut wires runs up to the directional switch, hazard switch and horn contact. You didn't say what year your car is, so my answers may not be completely accurate as i'm using my 80 regal wiring diagram. The wires that you have cut leads me to believe you don't have any brake lights or right rear turn. Do what I did and get on ebay and find a factory service manual for the year of your regal. I bought the big thick service manual as well as the thinner advanced edition that has the fold out wiring diagrams. Money well spent. If it were me and my car, I would see about reconnecting those two cut wires on that connector. Also I would rip out the horn button and wiring the previous owner installed. Try to get the horn to work as originally intended. Get the wiring back as close to original as you can so you know what you are dealing with. Wire up the radio power feed from the factory connector or from a keyed ignition source off the fuse block. If you can do what I suggested that will give you a good staring point to get things working right.

If you are needing a new (old) factory connector like that, I have one. I have recently removed my interior and factory wiring from my '83 Regal

Actually before i started working on the car which by the way is an 1982 i was driving it around and i did have working turn signals and brake lights as well. I want to get every thing working as it should be. the first thing i did was remove that button they re-wired for the horn. its was a big a$$ door bell button i think lol and the pic below is the re-wired headlight switch they mickey moused. im going to take your advise and get the manuals for my car. thats for the help :notworthy:
