hello guys, im a new member to this site and to the monte carlo ss scene. always wanted one. anyways i picked one off ebay for a decent price.
after a new ignition system everything but the distributor pretty much got it running nicely with a little bit of a high idle. my power steering wasnt working so i put fluid in it and what ya know the return hard line coming out of hte box is leaking oil like a gyser... so i go to napa get the part, bend it replace it add new fluid go to start her up and fires right up...... for only about ten seconds maybe little longer.... it starts to die off and if you give it gas it will keep dieing out. so i thought it was a bad fuel filter again, nope still does it, so went and bought new fuel pump... same thing starts then dies off.... so im lost now lol im on montecarloss forum too and the guys have been very helpful since carbs are a new thing for me... im really hoping its not a bad carb im sure its expensive since it computer controlled.... :?:
