so i was having issues with my car misfiring, not running smooth, no tuneability, and most of all not going into gear without stalling. i was concerned of bad compression or a burnt valve. i went out to go work on the cutlass with really no goals at all just to tinker i had a couple things in mind. i started by checking all my plugs for oil or anything odd. all checked out well with a good gap still and all nice and dry. that provided me some better state of mind because it ruled out a burnt valve in my mind (not sure if thats entirely true or not) after that i remembered i had the egr valve off at one point and the gasket was gone because i had removed it and i had the gasket i already had bought and had it sitting in my parts car (i believe the lack of gasket was causing an intake leak and ended up being the heart of my problems i think) i also had a couple of crappy looking vacumn leaks on it so i replaced them. not sure if they were actually to the point of a vacumn leak.

anyways started it up after this it is running nice and smooth like ti should be and going into gear without stalling out. i went outside with no goal at all and made the most progress in quite a while with very little work. a good day. 😀
