Ac questions

I'm putting in a new ac system with r134 and I think it's 8 ounces of ester oil that is required is that write and do I pour it into the lines or do I get the can that plugs It into the hose like freon and plug that into the line

Don't know about the amount right off, but it's easier/better to pour it in the compressor/lines before ya hook them up and vac the system down.
