Afco or Ridetech coilovers?

I currenty have a set of ridetech shockwaves mocked up on my GN frame but not sure i want to deal with a on-board comp. So i may switch to coilovers which brand are better for a all around driver mostly street but handling is important plus its a high HP car?
 
I'd say most people would put ridetech's fox built shocks ahead of afco.

Ps, I'm getting ready to do airride myself, got shockwaves front & 9000 bags rear. I went the route of installing an engine driven York ac compressor instead of electric & manual valves for control. Air will be sufficient to run power tools.
 
I'm still a bit in the air on using the shockwaves they definitly have the cool factor and Darren at Ridetech said they work very well for all types of driving. Just have to deal with the air for them!
 
Weight,noise ,and reliability i think the shockwaves themselves will hold up fine according to Darren just the air systems can be a pain and if you lose the air you are stranded.
 
As far as weight coil springs are way the hell heavier than bags, enough to offset the other weights involved. A leaf spring vehicle can come out lighter. aluminum air tank(s) can help, I got 2- 7 gal tanks @10pounds each since I'm doing a navy ship horn & other items.
Reliability is mostly properly clearancing for bags ,running lines properly & having good quality valves.
Electric compressors are noisy when running, my engine driven york will be quieter & run less at a time. Dual electric compressors are more reliable(backup) if one should quit.
 
I have a horn blasters train horn on my truck and the 400c viair is loud and its under the truck it would probably be real loud in the trunk! The shockwaves fit well they are smaller than bags and needed no clearancing and i'm running a lsx 427 with twins so there will be plenty going on with the engine no room for additional compressors. I was looking at the twin airpod setups bit pricey but easy to deal with!
 
I am also looking a QA1's anyone running those on the street with any feedback? I would also like to know how much pivot the rear coilovers have the shockwaves bind before i can get them in the factory spot?
 
Recently got shock advice from someone on pro-touring .com that has a shop. he referred to QA1 as one of the more affordable shocks, not the best. ??? Pro-touring.com has the most people than run performance suspension.
Haven't actually seen shockwaves on the rear of a g-body before, always see f9000 bags with length appropriate shocks, even by some shocks that sell some of everybody's stuff. Have you consulted ridetech on your problem?
 
I have spoke with Darren and the problem is I'm running a Moser M9 and i asked everyone including Moser if the braket location was the same as stock they said yes and when i compared it it seemed very close. My frame was out for coating at the time and i figured with the amount of pivot top and bottom they had some play so i welded the brackets on the M9 and had it coated then when i started assm. i found that they were off my best guess is the housing brackets vary some! I did think the rear was not properly degreed but i set the control arms to stock lenght and it looks close if anything it would need to come down and make the problem worse! Ridetch mounts theirs off to the side for clearance purposes which limits it front to back movement i need It's mt own fault for not checking everthing first! I have a plan for offset bracktes to fix the issue but its just more fab work!
