well I got my exhaust done a few weeks ago at the shop, problem is it knocks on the rear axle really hard when I hit bumps. I wanna get some air shocks in the back to lift the rear end up then it wont hit the axle anymore. What is a good kind to get?? Prices?

Why not just go back to the exhaust shop and have them fix what they screwed up? A well built exhaust shouldn't hit the axle.

The pipes are hitting the axle?

I'd take it back to that shop that did it and tell them to fix it.

As for shocks, I had a set of Gabriel Sky-Jacker's on my first El Camino, and was quite pleased with them, though it can be a bit tricky to get those cheap fittings to not leak...

its not their

fault, the car sits so low if they lower the exhaust any further it would be hitting the ground when I hit bumps, our cars sit so damn low. I have the pipes running straight out the back? so what suggestions do ya got on air shocks, that way the car will sit much higher then it does now and the exhaust wont hit. I dont feel like getting a new cross member bar at the moment that would raise the exhaust more in the front by about 2 inches but wouldnt solve the problem in the back.

I still don't get what is hitting or how it is routed. My car has dual tailpipes on it in 2.25 in and is lowered, but nothing hits the axle.

yeah by

putting the air shocks on, its not going to fix it I Realize that now after thinking about it. its still going to hit the axle or trunk or whatever it is. Im gonna take it there tuesday for the 3rd time. The 2nd time I went there they fixed some bad hangers not im pissed though. They better fix it or im going to demand a refund.

If they refuse to fix it, tell them very calmly" OK I guess I will have to see what my lawyer thinks about this, maybe he can fix it".....

If you life in a wonderful state like Massachusetts you can send them a certain letter telling that if they do not fix the problem or reimburse you will sue them. If they do not respond in 30 days, you can go to small claims court and get 3x the amount from them,,,,a little more technical but just a brief description.

they

fixed the exhaust no problem, first he bent the pipes a bit more then he put a spacer in each spring so it got a 2.5 lift thus not hitting the exhaust on big bumps. My only other problem is the cross member which it still rattles on. They told me to notch it its like 60 bucks. THe thing is id be lucky to get even .50 inches out of the deal. Whats the cheapest one on the market?? Crossmember that is. Ive found a fender for 100 bucks ill be buying soon too, that is unless somone can find me a luxury sport one cheaper?
