Hey Folks,
I got one of those eBay Champion 3-row alum rads for my '78 Cutlass...Haven't installed it yet - hopefully it'll fit (PN C162)...I was wondering if there were any recommendations for OEM elec fan set-ups...I read somewhere that g-body folks have used the Ford Taurus & Dodge Intrepid fans...Your input is appreciated

i am running the intrepid fans and i am also using the wiring diagram below. if you need a better looking version for text let me know, i drew this up in AutoCAD so any format is easy for me.

Intrepid fans are the best in my opinion. I'm running a fully automatic setup, no manual override switch. One thermostat for low speed, another for high speed. cant go wrong. Heres a link to a how to and schematic i used:

i suggest using something other than zipties for mounting though. I made an aluminum bracket for mine.

Bracket holds it snug into the top plate. Like they were made to fit.

Do you guys think the cost vs benefit is worth going electric compared to a good HD fan, thermal clutch & lower temp thermostat? Do you think you've noticed a difference in parasitic drag on the engine?

I've thought about going electric before but I just couldn't justify a need for it.

couldnt have been more than $25... i had to buy a descent size length though. lowes or home depot might have shorter lengths. I think i got 1" flat stock and 1" angle, but i'm not positive on the angle
