AN Fitting Question

When I was putting the crate motor in my wagon the GM fuel pump inlet/outlet fittings couldnt be clocked in the right position for the factory fuel line. I switched to an Edelbrock pump and still had to use a funky fitting setup for the inlet. I bought a pre formed rubber fuel line and never liked it from the day I put it in.
Now Im thinking about using a length of AN line from the pump back to the factory tubing along the frame. Im assuming the easiest way is a compression to AN fitting ? Anyone have a recommendation as far as a good brand ? I guess the line had to be super clean for the compression fitting to work.

I bought 4 of them from Evil Energy but haven't run them on a vehicle yet. I did connect them to some brand new hard line to do a low/med pressure leak test and they worked just fine. I possess many of their products and it all looks exceptional to me, and with their stuff right next to some from Russell or Earl's you can't tell them apart. I've got their AN, NPT, ORB, straights/ elbows, swivel fittings, hose, and 58 mm filter. The swivels all move freely, not one single fitting had a burr, chip, or defect in the threads- internal or external. All pieces thread together and disassemble with ease. The anodized finish looks very even and uniform, as well as completely thorough. I haven't found a single problem with anything I've purchased from them. And yes, ferrule fitting connections require a clean and dirt/rust free connection or any brand will leak all day.

Something to keep in mind a lot of those type of fittings are designed to use that ferrule on aluminum tube as it's easy it to become one.im running this on my stainless hard line to AN hose/feed my mechanical fuel pump.

Do you think the ferrule with hold up on the factory fuel line ? I guess the only other option would be to flare it ?

I believe so due to the fact that compressing into my stainless line is much harder than your oe carbon steel line.. Another option would be to use a tube nut and coupler assembly that requires you to make only a single 37 degree flare on the steel line,that mates to a male an fitting coming from your fuel pump hose side.

yes this's the one I spoke of that requires a single flare,I got mine through a Pharmaceutical pipe fitter.its a swagelok brand,they make killer stuff.
I wish I had a part# reference for you of some kind but I don’t.this's the same part by a different company.

My old job had a huge cabinet filled with swagelok fittings. Should have built up a little supply of my own. LOL
Do you think the flared fitting would be better than a ferrule style ? Im hoping I can get some of these things done at my buddies shop since hes got a few lifts. Hopefully this house crap will be done at one point.

i think that ferrule would work,it did on my stainless hardline.Honestly for me it boils down to what is gonna be easier to install-say if the body is still on the frame &you're doing it on the ground,cutting& flaring is more cumbersome than the slip on compression version.
