I want to use a android tablet as my head unit. Does anybody know how I can pull this off?

They sale a connector that converts the 3mm earplug jack to rca jacks that u would run to your amp, not a bad idea but I can't say how good the sound quality would be. I have seen a car that done the same thing with an iPad and it sounded good, but on that the cable converts the Apple connector into rca jacks

That's a smart idea bro let me know how good it sounds also your here in az hit me up if you need some ish done on the whip Im trying to get as many of us out here in az linked up

i dont think the android has caught up with apple as far as integration goes... you just need to research whether there is a converter available for the rca/video output...

Yea Im wondering about the sound quality as well. I plan on hooking up a 1TB external hardrive to it so all my music is on there instead of loading down the android and have it run slow.

Apple was blown away a long long time ago with being able to integrate there phone and tablets. And apple tablets, lol, I have more computing power on my android dualcore phone then there tablets.

Asus (not well known tablet maker) is about to drop a big bomb on the tablet world with its quad core prime transformer tablet running the new android OS ice cream sandwich. Its going to be a beast!

HTC recently gave Dr. Dre $300 mill for his beats audio program. They've already made a phone with it. Next in line are tablets that are going to be all about music and sound quality.. If your going to fabricate a dock on the dash I would waite for that.

This can totally be done, and done well. RCA to stereo converter, amp to tablet, quality counts here. That
cable will double as radio antenna. If you hook up verizon 4G LTE you can be
streaming HD 1080p music videos! Not to mention google navigatior, web browsing and all the apps.

well if ya wanna make several docks that you can swap out for different ipad/pod/android/whatever-the-poop on the fly, THAT would be kewl, AND you could make a profit. think about it, theres big money in making old cars werk with new teckno-babble stuff. and if you could swap docking bays like(insert punchline of people swaping things here) youd be a rich genius, like bill gates but with more street cred and not so 40 year old virgin lookin. id do it but im broke and i have no place or time do do this kinda werk.
