Well I'm driving home from work tonight and about a 3/4 mile from my house i notice a slight smoke from under my hood. Nothing too bad and i didn't catch any lights so i kept driving till i got home pulled in the driveway and lifted the hood and my cutlass was bleeding out oil all over the engine. I don't know what it is i didn't an oil change 3 weeks ago but it has nothing to do with that. I have no clue I just had this engine put in 9 months ago and have finally been able to drive it just 4 months ago and it is a rebuilt 307. Anyway I wanna wash my mouth out with my .45 after all the money i spent on this car and now this!!!

lets go with the most obvious, valve cover gaskets, oil pressure sensor, intake seals, check you dipstick too might have popped out, don't get depressed it should be a easy fix

usually an oil leak on a newly rebuilt engine isn't a bad thing (and it's not uncommon). First of all, the people who rebuilt it should cover this type of thing under a warranty... unless you've put too many miles on it or it was only 6 months.

Smoke prob. means the oil is being burnt on the headers/exhaust manifolds - check it out. which also means your bottom end gaskets should be ok... and also means don't drive it or run it for more than enough time it takes to find a leak - engine fires are nasty. It's pretty simple, turn the engine on, make sure you've been checking oil pressure, and find the leak. Then tell us where it is or post a picture and we'll tell you how to fix it.

I feel you man....similar story, i had just left my mechanics shop, was driving back to my work to put my hood on, on the way there oil starting spraying on the pass side windshield, got to my work, and oil starting pouring out....boy was I PISSED!!!! probably felt just as sick as your feeling, I stayed late that day in cold *ss temperatures degreasing under the hood and cleaning up all the mess. turned out it was my front main seal, my mechanic put a repair seal in prior...i still have a small seep from my rear main seal now but nothing that I'm gonna worry about as i'm not losing oil, mine was a fresh rebuild, from my previous crate motor, hydrolocked it....i feel you dude, but you will previal!!!! keep ya head up and let us now what you find out

Thank God I just looked into it more and it is the oil pressure sensor at the front of the engine near the water pump. The oil is squirting out in a steady stream but from what my mechanic told me its an easy fix. I just hope in the distance I drove it it didn't do any engine damage.

i doubt you hurt anything, i feared that also, but my mechanic said as long as It wasn't bone dry, which it was not....still had some oil pressure as my gauges were showing it'd be ok
