any one replace the steering colomn housing?

hi just wondering if any ones ever replaced the housing to the steering colomn with one of these aftermarket ones? i dont think its necessary to change out the whole steering colomn because my original one has a crack by the turn signal. or is it? thanks

Not a bad job, kind of a pain in the *ss and need a few special tools but can be done in car. Google GM steering column repair or something to that effect...one guy has a pretty good video here, Jeep GM, same column
