Well, I'm no help on your question, but I really like your plan!

i'll be back at 8pmthx chief

I've been checking around to do the same thing,an 8 or 10 point to my 78' Malibu wagon, but have pretty much concluded that nobody I checked with makes a cage specific to the G-Body wagons.

I guess a person has to just buy a cage for a 2 dr. and then modify it.

I think the swing out bar will work if your wanting to install a bench seat.

They just didn't think about wagons when designing cage kits 🙁

Just wondered something ????

Is that your wagon in the picture ? If it is that's a good looking wagon !

If so,how did you modify the roof chrome on the outside roll to cover up the holes left from the roof rack bars ?

I took my roof rack off and have experimented with different ideas such as chrome pluds to painted plugs.

I bought an 8 point kit for a 2dr and modified it and yes the back seat is still usable.. I bent the rear strut bars to clear seat.. But if i was to do it again i would buy to main hoops and cut one in half and use it for the back strut bars so they would run along roof closer and the headacke bar would be nolonger .. I desided just to make it a 6 point so rear floor would have no bars in the way..

Pics are in my thread.

Took me a day to mock up because i was bending bars the way i wanted them. The next day i welded it up so probably around 14-16hrs i never really payed attention. Just take your time it will come out nice.
