So I am tired of paying the cable company $10mo for DVR rental and service. Has anyone on here done this? What's needed, what are my PC requirements? Pros and cons vs the cable company box?

It's simple, need a video card with the appropriate connections and software. But, by the time you get those items, you would have paid the cable company two years, at least. Not worth the trouble of maintaing it, in my opinion. Just b*tch at them and they will drop the price.

I call and bitched, got my bill down $10/mo. But noticed that my DVR service is/has been $12.99! Plus $11.50 for DVR box rental :evil: Not sure how long it's been that price. I don't always look at he individual fees, wow.
