Wondering if theres any tricks on getting the trim off the vinyl top of the car ,getting rid of the vinyl to paint it
pacman350 said:i started with the side pieces myself. When you remove the vinyl top your going to need the rear window trim, and regular hard top quarter windows because the vinyl is tucked in behind the quarter window. i couldnt find any cuttys in the jpnkyards around here so i used 3M Window Weld to fill in the gap cause its used to glue the windshield in and it hold and seals very good. all you have to do is tape up the chrome trim on the quarter window the tape up the body around the gap, once you do that use a caulking gun to fill in the gap all the way around the window make sure u fill the gap all the way. then let i set for about 5 minutes to let it start setting up the with rubber gloves on take your finger and smooth it flush with the body panel. then remove the tape before it set up because once it do its as hard as the rubber on your tires. once its dry it will look just like he hard top quarter window dat has the gasket made on it. and with the window weld it will probably seal it better. thats how i did mines and will post pics as soon as i get a chance.
