They should be exactly the same frame. The malibu, monte carlo, and el camino I know are exactly the same, minus the body panels. I pulled a core support out of a monte carlo and it was a duplicate and direct fit into my 80' malibu. So yes the frames are the same.

Montes are longer ahead of the core support.

El Caminos are longer wheelbase

Wagons have the rearmost mounts in a different location

Suitable interchanges by part number are

Buick Century 78-81
Pontiac Lemans/Grand AM 78-80

Other G body cars have different part numbers, including 81 Pontiacs

What is wrong with your frame? only way to really know is use a tape measure see how far apart the body mounts and everything between the two frames.

Nothing is wrong with mine. This is someone who has a project started from the frame up with por15, but its a monte, with a ten bolt 442 posi. I have a cutty and would like my next project to be a malibu. I'll see if he'll move just the rear end. 8)
