b body 8.5 posi

so im maybee looking for an 8.5 posi to go into an 8.5 housing i might buy..there is an 8.5 posi on cl from a b body 88 caprice cop car, as much as i can gather that unit should go into my g body 8.5 housing?..just looking for confirmation

It should work depends on the spline count though.

Moser has 8.5 g body axels for $260 and you can get 30 spline axels, and 89-98 chevy trucks came with 8.5 s with 30 spline posi.

88 should be a 30 spline, so new axles would be required, other than that, it will swap in.
