I have a friend that has a set of weld draglites . The rears are 15x8 With 5.5 in Of back spacing . Will they fit on a 87 Cutlass ? I will have to drive a bit just to try them and right now they have no tires . Just curious what you guys might know , and have experimented with . Thanks

No. That BS is way off. 5.5 will put the inside of the tire/wheel too close to the frame.

You need a 4.0 or 3.75 bs for a 87 Cutlass.

With my 87, I have Olds SSII wheels on it, with a 4.25" bs. A 235x60x15 drag radial barely fits without rubbing the frame.

Going with a 4" or 3.75" bs will allow you to go with a 15x8 or 15x10 inch wheel with no worries of rub.

Cool , I appreciate that . I kind of figured it was , but it never hurts to ask . I talked to a friend today from another state and he said he tried all different combos with his 87 442 . His brother had a tire store so he had alot at his disposal . He is going to look back at his receipts for the tire size , but he said the max he went was 4.5 but it was a b*tch to find the right tire combo to where it wouldnt scrub . I will post what he writes . He laughed at the 5.5 .
