It has been a while since I used the site; just wanted to re-introduce myself and my account, which I had lost the password to for a while as this computer was down. I have had 4 gbody's so far but I am down to one right now, my first. It seems like just the other day I bought the car and joined this site but somehow it has been more like 6 years. My only advice for younger guys just starting on here would be to get the parts you need before they get even more rare and expensive. If you see it and know you are going to need it, and you have the money in pocket, don't even go out to eat while thinking it over - buy it and make a sandwich instead. You might return to buy the item and notice it was already purchased. After that, you might not see the item for sale for months again - in condition and price you were willing to pay. There is a lot of competition these days over considerably less parts for sale (compared to when I joined this site*). For example, I recently noticed someone sell a pair of rocket tail lights in comparable condition to the ones I paid $5 in 2009, for $50 (Tenfold increase over five years)
I am in Indiana if anyone needs something out here you could PM me, although I may not be as active as before.
I am in talks with someone on selling this car pictured below, more because of the circumstances than an actual desire to see it go. If I let go of the car I will not lose interest in this community or g-body fever, but I will not post after that. I still hope to see the magazine take off and this site continue to thrive regardless which way that goes, and I just wanted to thank everyone that helped me with difficulties over the years and responded to posts where I was frustrated working on something (we've all been there but some of us lie about it).
It has been a great ride and there are some great guys on this site - and women too, so I'm sure I will see some of you on the other side. These might be 'just a car' to someone else, but to me they represent a dying age of american prosperity through renewable platform manufacturing and true freedom of movement without our every move being tracked. Two concepts which are currently under attack during a very important election cycle. It is too bad that literary efforts such as 1984, Brave New World and Animal Farm failed to prevent the society they attempted to discourage. You were warned.
