Badge Repair??

Sadly I think I know what the answer will be, but does anyone know a good way to clean the badge up and what is the green stuff is? It's on the dash badge too and it is really starting to bug me.

Try some rubbing compound on a rag

The green stuff is copper oxide from the underlying copper plating. My Hurst emblem was similar. I used chrome polish to clean it up. That won't get rid of any pitting though.
