Banning pitbulls in Ohio

A law could possibly be passed in Ohio banning pitbulls. I personally think this is a stupid idea, I wanted to know what everyone thinks about this. I am going to agree that pitbulls can be very dangerous, but the problem is that people dont want to take the responsibility of owning one and getting it professionaly trained. That is basically why the dog can become so dangerous. The bad part is that if someone has an aggresive little dog, no one cares, it wont do much damage. I deliver pizza and come across alot of dogs. I have been to plenty of houses with pits, rotweilers, boxers, have never had a bad experience with them once. They have all been very calm and friendly. I have came pretty close to getting bit numerous times by these little, overactive dogs.

Not all "dangerous dogs" are dangerous. So why should innocent, good behaving dogs be killed because of the stupid owners who let other dogs become viscous?

Just another one of your personal freedoms being stripped away. All these little incremental laws banning things here and there will add up at some point and time.

Dogs are loyal, loving animals unless they are abused or taught otherwise. I had a Rottweiler for 12years and he was harmless. I would love to see a law enforce trying to seize the owners animals too. Dog owner are pretty passionate about their pets, I dont see them being given up so easily.

In Louisville Kentucky to own a pit bull you have to have the dog fixed and registered with the American kennel club theres also countries in fl where you can't own one.The reason there doing this is all the dog fighting people do with pit bull most young black males have one like its a fashion statement.Any dog can be mean if its taught to be i have owned many large breed dogs great dane labs pit bull a boxer even a doberman all of my dogs where nice unless you tried to break in or attack me but thats normal.Funny thing most people are more scared of the pet possum i have then my great dane and black lab.As far as dog fighting goes the people doing it i say lock them in a cage with a tiger or bear see how they like getting ripped apart like they did there dogs.

:evil: I know they are doing there best but it will only work for people like me that have the dogs tagged and such.When they put a full state ban on stupid people then they can try and take my pits.Punish the deed not the breed!!!

I too deliver pizza and believe this is a silly idea put forth in an election year by a politician who wants to look like they give a sh*t by using a dog breed as a scapegoat. If they really want to go after a dangerous breed, I would say Chows, German Shepherds and Chihuahuas are far more likely to be aggressive than a pit bull. Pits can be dangerous if they are raised wrong, but the majority of them are not raised this way. I have known several people with Pit Bulls and they never have caused me any concern. Most have liked me enough to fall asleep on my legs as I was laying down on the couch.
