Last two days has had some really nice resto mods, the couple I was really a fan of were the neon green Cuda and the hot chick who bought it, 67 chevelle with what looked to be almost impulse blue paint, dark green GTX, and one other that escapes me at the moment.

No pics she never bought it.

I was too lazy to go and undelete the show it was in, but I did get you this pic. This is the best auction I have probably ever seen since there was so many resto mods that were over the top, I can only imagine the amount of heart attacks the Vette guys had. There were 2 split window resto mods, one with an LS7 and the other with a new LT1, there was probably another 10 or so really well done LS swap C1 to C2 Vettes that were all really nice as well.

Crazy money for just about anything at that auction. I read somewhere that alcoholic drinks were being handed out for free. That might be the reason for the overblown prices. We see a post or two above a GNX bringing $95,000. We're used to prices like that for a GNX, but here's an 87 Turbo T Limited, with 55,000 miles that drew a bid of $42,000 (includes buyer's fee). The craziness goes on. Hey! I have a pristine 86 T with 22,000 original miles, cleaner and more original than the one that sold for $42k, and I'll let you have it for $30K.

They used to give you free drinks when you were a bidder at Barrett Jackson, I believe they took that back and give you like 2 or 3 drink tickets now. They get the guys in there that just want a measuring contest, just like the guys who bid a million or 2 to an charity auction car and tell them to run it again for someone else.

Crazy money being spent for certain. I watched for two evenings and enjoyed it for what it was, to me, a neat car show. A 1958 Oldsmobile 98 came across and it was fabulous, the rocket age tail lamps and wings, so cool. Many other incredible cars for sure. My wife and I really liked a couple of 72' K5 Blazers, brought us back to the days dating in my 89' Bronco XLT.

Yeah, I like when they take a break from the 69 Camaros & Chevelles, and show late 50s Chevys, Buicks, Pontiacs, Olds and Caddys.
