What is a good ring gap factor for:
496 BBC
Probe forged pistons
Hastings moly rings
Pump/race gas

Hastings has on their site minimum of .0035xbore
And on another part of their site

They have street cars .0065xbore
And drag fuel .0075
And turbo nitrous etc for .008

So confusing

If this is a naturally aspirated engine then I would gap them at the tightest gap recommended by the ring manufacturer, if you are adding a power adder (nitrous, blower, turbo) then you have to open them up to a larger gap so the end of the rings don't butt into each other.
Try to decide what your long term goals are for engine if it is NA now but you plan on putting a turbo etc. on later then add gap for the turbo now.
I personally only use gapless rings so you can open up the gap and still keep blowby to a minimum.
