Whats up guys? I got my AC charged and working great over the weekend on my 88 gmc blows nice and cold. But now the thing overheats if i run it too long and i know my radiator is the problem because hoses, water pump, tstat which is a 160 is all new replaced them all in the motor swap. I had a giant custom radiator in the Bu so this was never a problem then. I was thinking insted of just buying a stock replacment radiator for this truck i was thinking of upgrading to the 454 radiator since this 350 is packing alittle more punch than stock and i would like the extra cooling. I know i gotta get the matching shroud and feet for the 454 radiator the only thing im worried about is id hate to buy all this stuff just to find out the core support is diffrent or the bigger radiator has clearance issues with the ac condenser or somthing.
Has anyone here had any experience with these 88-98 chevys?

And dont try to send me to another forum if you cant help please. Ive been to other forums and this one is the only good one

Ha JD1979,

I built my sleeper wagon too meany years ago to remember. I used either a aftermarket replacement radiator for a fully loaded 79-83 G-Body V-8 wagon or Grand National or 442. Each of these radiators are either 3 or 4 core. I got a new V-8 fan shroud and brackets from the local Chevy dealer. I run a 454 putting out around 550 HP in a 83 Malibu wagon and it has never over heated. However, I do not have AC.
