I just did a semi-rebuild on my steering column ... pivot for the turn signal broke off in the housing and my key cylinder had some slop. So I put in one of those "theft recovery kits" - has a reconditioned housing and all the new innards. While I was at it, I took the wiring for the cruise out - cruise was inoperative and I removed it all from unhood anyways. I will be re-doing my interior soon and wanted the replace the tilt lever, flasher knob and turn signal lever.

Now my car is an 81 Calais (floor shifter) and has the wipers on the dash. So I'd like just a plain no cruise/no wiper lever. I have looked around and the only ones I seem to find have a screw that attaches the lever. Does anyone know of an apropriate lever that friction fits into the pivot like the O.E.M? I'd rther it be billet than the plastic coated chrome but I will take anything that doesn't look like crap at this point.

i used the kit that had the screw deal and then cut the end of it off and and shoved it in, it did loosen a little on occasion but if you used some epoxy or similar i think it will stay. my car has not been on the road in 2 years otherwise i would have glued it by now. if you come up with another soultion i would like to see it, i will be buying one also!

well if that has to be the answer ... but I was hoping for better. I'd think about drilling out the actuator and sticking a slightly larger (than the hole) piece of brass tube in and then just super-gluing for a permanate install, but I'd rather something designed to fit.

i just got a new steering column for a floor shift unit, my car is suppose to have the windshield wiper controls on it so i might just stick with it on mine. i like your idea though, would you make it so you could pull the lever back out if you ever needed to?

On summit racing's website, Ididit kit #2500010040 should work for you. It is designed for the 77-90 "push-in" style turn signal lever. It's $50 + shipping, and has the signal lever, tilt wheel lever, and hazard switch.

That is the only dress up kit I've seen that will work on your application.

yeah in that respect it's a bit easier on my cuz my controls for the wiper are dash mounted ... I was a bit more worried about it being a solid mount and not falling out rather than removing it later ... that said. I'd still like one that just slides in.
