body mounts 81 regal?

Does anyone know if you can take the body mounts out and set the body on the frame, bolt it in and shim anywhere needed? I'm getting ready to install a cage and want to make everything as rigid as possible.

can't say i've ever heard of it being done but if you want it to be as rigid as possible you can use aluminum mounts instead of poly
