I have an 85 cutlass and i want to change the body mounts. THe ones on there now are old and i want a better handleing car. are they hard to change do you have to take brake lines off or fuel line? And if i get 4 or 5 ppl to lift up body off frame will the body start flexing? I hurd that the windshield might brake if you are not careful enough. I was thinking of jus lifting the body off the frame like 4 inches and jus slidding the poly bushings in. Just want to kno if it is worth all the work.

There is an easier way that might work if the body is solid. Just loosen all of the mounts on one side and then place a 2x6 under the floor that is a few feet long. Use a hydraulic jack on the board and jack the body up 1-3 inches-just enough to get the mounts out. Then repeat on the other side. You probably will not need to disconnect anything if you are careful. The brake lines are bolted to the frame, and the only part of the brakes that is on the body is the master cylinder and prop valve. The lines from these two items are coiled and should have enough give to move with the body and not break.
