Not exactly a G-body question, but here goes. I am replacing a bedside on an old pickup. Is there something that should go between the bedside and floor to keep out water and rust? I pulled the gas filler pipe cover off a Blazer a while back, and it had this thin foam tape 'gasket'. Is that or some brush-on or stick-on sealer a good idea to seal the joint? Any suggestions on a good product?

Thanks!

You definitely will want to seal any joints where metal meets. At work (I work at a body shop) we use a seam sealer product called Lord Fusor 800DTM. It is a 1k direct-to-metal (DTM) auto body seam dealing caulk. Your local auto body supply shop should have it. It's a good product, dries flexible, and can be painted before it dries or after.

Thanks! Right now the bedside has the EPDM Taiwanese primer and bed floor has regular epoxy primer on it. Does that change your recommendation?

I have found it adheres very well to primer as long as the primer is scuffed, and I've had no issues doing so. Your local auto body supply shop may be able to recommend something different, but personally I'd have no concerns applying it over scuffed primer. Just scuff it with a red scotchbrite pad and tack it off right before you apply it.
