New to the site, great place! Going back together with a frameoff/80 Malibu. Not the original body or frame. I have a Fisher body manual but no information on the "G" or "A" body alignment specs, just the "H" and "F" bodies. Using new OEM body mounts. Need some sort of starting point alignment inorder to align the remaining sheetmetal. New door skins...hood and fender originals. I searched the forum but was unable to come up with anything. Any help would be appreciated!!

Well... this is where I say that it's a GM car. They didn't really go by their own specs when the cars were new, so don't sweat it too much. My car had the body shifted 1/4 in to one side on the frame as compared to the other, causing tire rub on one side, and not the other. I shifted it back and figured out my spec when my finger went an equal distance in between the rocker panel pinch weld and the frame rail on each side in the same spot front and back. As for the doors, about 1/4 inch is right. Align the doors first and make them shut properly, then align the fenders to the doors. Remember to have lots of shims for each position as no GM car of this era is complete without a shim stack that would reach half way to the moon. It's a G body, not a Mercedes S class.
