OK, here's what's happening. I've been noticing a lot lately that my brake lights stay on after I get out of the car. I haven't really checked into it to much. I just always thought it had something to do with the parking brake. Usually I just pump the brake pedal once or twice and they go off.

But today I just reached over from the passenger side to do it with my hand. When I grabbed it I noticed that the pedal pulled back about a half an inch. So then I tried pushing it down by hand and pulled it again. Same thing, the pedal doesn't come back up all the way.

I have never had an issue like this on a car. I know the fluid id good, and the pads are all good (front are about a month old, rear about 6 months).

Has anyone ever had this problem?

Could the master cylinder be sticking? I am as confused as you are :?

I don't know, how can I tell? I really don't wanna take it in to a shop, to broke right now. I might have to start saving lol.

ok i had this problem awhile back, nothing big, try this first, it's the pedal assembly itself, underneath the dash, look to where the brake pedal is, it has a lil adjuster that you need to play with, you prob have to loosen it a lil, the chevy pickup at work was doing the same thing, i didnt find any adjustment thing on it, so we just sprayed some WD40 on the pedal assembly cuz it was sticking and it fixed it. but check that out first

Cool, I'm gonna try that in the morning. Hope it works.

Had a sick kid today, so haven't had a chance to check it yet. Hopefully I can get out there before it gets dark.

OK so I only gave it a quick look today (after locking my keys in the car and having to walk 2 1/2 hours to get my spare keys, my hip is to sore to get down and look at it lol), but I couldn't see the adjuster thing. Where about is it located on the pedal assembly?

That sucks! Always keep an extra door key in your wallet.
I cannot count how many times I've used it...
Yikes, I have to get an extra set made for the Buick!
